Riviera Maya: Jungle Horseback Ride on Rescue Horses and Gourmet Picnic

Leave the busy beaches and resorts of the Riviera Maya behind and discover a completely different side of the region on horseback, riding through hundreds of acres of privately owned tropical jungle between Playa del Carmen and Puerto Morelos.

After meeting your guide and horse, set out along peaceful jungle trails surrounded by dense tropical vegetation, natural sinkholes and the sounds of wildlife. The ranch is home to a family of rescued horses, many of whom arrived after experiencing neglect or difficult circumstances and have since found a permanent home here.

Rather than following crowded tourist trails, the ride takes place in one of the few largely undeveloped areas remaining along this part of the Riviera Maya, allowing you to experience the landscape at a slower pace and from a completely different perspective.

Depending on the option selected, you can keep the experience simple with a relaxed jungle ride or turn it into something more special with a private experience and gourmet picnic in one of the ranch’s hidden jungle locations. Different picnic setups are available, including options such as wine and cheese, strawberries and sparkling wine, or a vegan feast, making this an especially beautiful choice for birthdays, anniversaries, engagements or simply an afternoon you want to remember.

Morning rides can begin with coffee, juice and pastries among the citrus trees and horses, while afternoon experiences may finish with a cold beer or glass of wine and light snacks at the ranch.

Spend around 1.5 to 2.5 hours surrounded by horses and tropical nature before returning to the ranch, having experienced a quieter and much less familiar side of the Riviera Maya.
