Ride into the African bush on horseback, encountering giraffe, zebra, buffalo and other wildlife across more than 550 hectares of private wilderness near Kruger National Park.
The Experience
Discover South Africa’s wild side on horseback with a horseback safari near Phalaborwa and the Greater Kruger region.
Set across more than 550 hectares of private wilderness, this small-group riding experience takes you away from the traditional safari vehicle and into the African bush on horseback.
Accompanied by an experienced guide and riding well-schooled horses, you’ll explore diverse bushveld landscapes where wildlife including giraffe, zebra, buffalo, hippo, crocodile, ostrich and several species of antelope may be encountered.
Choose your safari
The 2-hour horseback trail includes approximately 1.5 hours in the saddle and a 30-minute stop for refreshments. It is a beautiful introduction to horseback safari for confident beginners as well as more experienced riders.
For a deeper experience, choose the half-day horseback safari. Ride for approximately two hours through the bush before arriving at a viewing deck for a relaxed lunch overlooking the wilderness. Afterwards, return to the saddle for approximately another hour of riding.
Groups are kept small, with a maximum of six guests, creating a quieter and more personal way to experience the South African landscape.
Whether horseback riding is already part of the way you travel or you’ve always dreamed of seeing African wildlife from the saddle, this is one of those experiences that stays with you long after you dismount.
