Iceland: Black Sand Beach Horseback Ride

From the farm at Mid-Grund, your guide leads you through South Iceland’s open countryside toward its black sand coast, where the Atlantic and wide mountain views give the ride its sense of space. Riding time is approximately three hours, with preparation additional; the pace is matched to the group’s experience, so tell us whether this is your first ride or you are already comfortable in the saddle.

The route is subject to weather and water levels, and your guide may choose an alternative when the Holtsós crossing is unsuitable. Meet at Mid-Grund, near Hvolsvöllur, and arrive 20 minutes before your departure; transfers are available only by prior arrangement and are not included in the €199 per-person price.
