Beneath the Dolomites: A Horseback Journey Through Val di Fassa

Set against the dramatic peaks of the Italian Dolomites, this horseback adventure takes you into the landscapes of Val di Fassa, where forest trails, mountain paths and wide alpine views replace busy roads and crowded sightseeing routes.

The experience can be adapted to both your riding level and the amount of time you want to spend in the saddle. Beginners can start with a relaxed one-hour ride through the valley at a walking pace, while longer excursions head further into the mountains and can include walking, trotting and galloping for confident riders.

For those wanting to spend more time outdoors, half-day rides of around four hours explore the mountain trails and can be combined with a picnic. Full-day excursions of approximately six to seven hours include lunch and allow you to experience much more of the surrounding Dolomite landscape.

Private rides are also available, including a romantic experience for couples with a scenic stop and wine.

The horses are at the heart of the experience. Charlotte Horse Riding was founded around the rescue and rehabilitation of horses that had experienced neglect or mistreatment, and the stable continues to give rescued horses a new home and proper care.

The riding centre is located in Campitello di Fassa, close to the Col Rodella cableway, in the heart of the Val di Fassa Dolomites.

Helmets, insurance and photographs taken during the excursion are included. For insurance reasons, riders are asked not to use phones or cameras while riding.
